Seller Policy

1. Platform commission

LayerMarket takes a 15% commission on every successful sale. The remaining 85% is your payout.

• Commission is calculated on the full order value (item price + delivery fee).
• Both amounts are shown clearly on every order — no hidden fees.

2. Shipping physical orders

If you sell physical 3D printed items, you are responsible for shipping.

• You set the delivery fee on each listing.
• You dispatch within the timeframe you've stated.
• You handle packaging and postage.
• Tracking is required on every physical sale. You must enter a carrier and tracking number when marking an order as dispatched — this is enforced and orders cannot be dispatched without it.
• You're the point of contact for shipping issues with the buyer.

3. Payouts & payment hold

To protect both buyers and sellers, payouts are held briefly after a sale:

• Physical orders: your 85% payout is released 3 days after dispatch (the moment you confirm tracking).
• Digital STL orders: your payout is released immediately on successful payment — there's no postage step.
• If an order is cancelled, refunded, or disputed before the hold expires, the payout is paused pending resolution.
• You can see the payout countdown for every order on your dashboard.

4. Rights to STL files

Only upload designs you have the right to sell. That means:

• You created the model yourself, or
• You hold a commercial licence from the original creator.

Selling someone else's design without permission is not allowed and will result in the listing being removed and, if repeated, your account being closed.

5. Accurate descriptions

Listings must accurately reflect what the buyer will receive:

• Use real photos of the item or honest renders for digital files.
• Be clear about materials, size, finish, and what's included.
• For STL files, list the licence type and any usage restrictions.

6. Listing removal

We may remove or pause listings that break these rules — including listings that infringe copyright, mislead buyers, or violate our terms. Repeated violations will result in account suspension.
